Braniewo (German: Braunsberg) is a city in northeastern Poland, in Warmia-Mazury voivodship, with a population of 17,800 (2000).
The city was a part of the Monastic State of the Teutonic Knights until 1466, when as a consequence of the Second Treaty of Thorn ending the Thirteen Years' War it passed to Poland, as part of the new provice of Royal Prussia.
In 1552 Regina Protmann was born in Braniewo.

In 1995 a survey was made at six public libraries in the county of Östergötland in order to examine the reference service and the use of reference collections.
Some examples of motives for introducing multimedia were; the hope of improving quality in information services, offering multimedia was considered a democratic right of the citizens to have access to information and using multimedia was also seen as a way of educating the library visitors handling computers and information-retrieval systems.
My results show that the researchers working at the county councils are satisfied with how their information needs are met, but of course there is room for improvement.
