		Review: Nichole Nordeman took time off to raise her son after her award-winning 2002 album Woven and Spun, so besides an interim live album, Brave is the first heard from her in three years.
		She even struggles with it, asking Him to explain the unexplained and terrible in the beautifully moody "Someday" and challenging the longstanding concepts in "What If." On Brave, Nordeman is honest with herself and the audience instead of riding a high horse of rhetoric.

	Brave New World (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Brave New World is the twelfth studio album by heavy metal band Iron Maiden released on the 30th of May, 2000 (see 2000 in music).
		The album was a success with the fans of the band, and "The Wicker Man", "Ghost of the Navigator", the title track, "Out of the Silent Planet" and "Blood Brothers" are all established as band classics.
		The album art and title song are references to the novel of the same name (see Brave New World).

	DPRP CD Reviews - 2002 - Volume 44
		Brave has always been very special to me. Perhaps the band's all-time creative highlight (certainly during the Hogarth period) it has remained one of my favourite albums ever.
		Furthermore the album suffers from a homogenous sound which works well for a few tracks but over the arc of a whole album becomes slightly tedious and taxing to the ear resulting in everything sounding pretty much the same.
		Even though the album does come in for a lot of criticism, there are quite a number of high points on this album which are worthy of merit.

	Feature Reviews - Styx
		I read a criticism of the album that it starts out "darkly", but this goes in hand with the album concept and I find it as a whole to be an uplifting set of tunes.
		Again, to me, this album sounds like each vocalist was given a certain number of songs that they would be performing on the album, and then submitted their respective recordings into the pot.
		I pray that this album is a success for them, but to be honest, I don't think that they can survive for the long term like this.

		Brave Combo, for anyone unfamiliar with their particular style of genre-bending, is almost the definition of musical eclecticism.
		Brave Combo plays an assortment of different styles of polka here, and do them all very well indeed.
		The album itself looks more like a rock album than anything else; this was a conscious decision, made to broaden their base of listeners.

	DPRP : Counting Out Time : Marillion - Brave
		The album lacked the complexity of eighties' Marillion music, and the mainly pop-orientated songs were definitely not what the fans felt related to.
		This double CD didn't only feature the full rough demo version of the album that was put together in France, but also included a disc with numerous fragments of the songs in various stages of development.
		On the album it's not 100% clear if she does or does not commit suicide (in the movie she definitely does).

		It is not an easy digestible album on the first listening, because it is quite intense and emotional, but it also centres on all kind of negative feelings.
		This the most emotional track on the album and it suggests that girl in the story eventually commits suicide on the Severn Bridge, by jumping from it in the deep dark water.

		This is the album to blow that myth out of the water.
		Here the stylistic form is as seemingly random as ever, a veritable musical maze of ideas, but the lightning barrage of words isn't quite as intimidatingly clever as it can be, with the result that you end up admiring the quality of the songs rather than the performance.
		Now I know that sounds like this album should be filed in the slit your wrists category but the fact many of these dark subjects are performed to a musical backdrop including flamenco and calypso, keeps the songs accessible whilst still getting the message across to the listener.

		Brave started out like any of our albums, with jam sessions, a handful of finished lyrics from John Helmer, and disparate streams of thought from yours truly.
		I can't remember how much made it onto the album from these sessions, but it was such a pleasure to just sit back and listen to the band create something from nothing and keep it going and developing purely by using that special gift they had of "inter-band telepathy".

		Brave Combo's fifth album, 1988's Humansville tones down the occasionally self-conscious giddiness of the band's earliest records.
		Not that a Brave Combo album can be anything but lighthearted: Any group who essays covers like the Mexican pop standard "Besame Mucho" and the easy listening classic "Poor People of Paris" on the same album has to have a few giggles up their sleeves.
		For that reason alone, Humansville is the album on which Brave Combo leaves the novelty band tag behind for good.

	The Daily Vault Album Reviews : Brave And Crazy
		Brave And Crazy, the second release from Melissa Etheridge, was that album - and to this day, I prefer her acoustic-based music than her recent turn to rock.
		By far the prettiest moments on the album are on "You Can Sleep While I Drive," a song with little accompaniment except Etheridge's guitar and vocals and fine bass work from Kevin McCormick, and "The Angels," the third single.
		And while the friendship is now gone, the magic of this album has stayed with me. Allow yourself to feel it as well, and check this album out.

		The album did not fare too well with the public so Bachman teamed up again with his old friend Chad Allen and they decided to put together a new band hoping to recapture some of the magic that made the Guess Who so successful.
		A third Brave Belt album with the new line-up was planned but a label change to Mercury and the new heavier direction the band, prompted a name change at the request of the new label manager, and ' Bachman Turner Overdrive' or B.T.O. for short was born.
		Although both of the Brave Belt albums were commercially unsuccessful upon initial release, their reissue nearly 30 years later fills a hole for collectors in the Guess Who history and provides new fans with a long lost and welcome piece of Canadian music history.

		Therefore, this album is strongly recommended not only to goth/doom fans, but to all those who enjoy hearing good music.
		It is interesting that a significant part of this album seems to be built around this riff, making this a sort of musically conceptual album.

	Brave New World by Iron Maiden Songfacts
		This is the title track to Maiden's 2000 "reunion" album, in which former band members Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith returned to write new songs and perform music reminiscent of their "golden era".
		The song is based on the 1932 novel by Aldous Huxley about a futuristic, supposedly happy world where everyone is controlled by a totalitarian system that completely and utterly manipulates their feelings and movements.
		In the posters for the tour accompanying the album, Eddie's menacing face (now accompanied by long, claw-tipped hands) was now holding the Earth like a crystal ball.

	RevelationZ Magazine - Album Review - Iron Maiden - Brave New World
		This album is a good reminder of the elements that made them one of the biggest and best Heavy Metal bands of all time, stunning song writing, ingenious thinking, mind-blowing performances, huge dynamics and most importantly the ultra catchy melodies.
		This is an average album and it comes nowhere near my personal favorites, Piece of mind, Somewhere in time, Powerslave, Seventh son of a seventh son and Number of the beast.
		to be honest i didn't like this album at first, but being the biggest maiden fan i gave it another few listens, and naturally i became hooked, blood brothers for me ranks along side their finest efforts, its a mammoth half ballard with an absolutely masterful guitar solo.

		The only noticeable difference is that Miller has forsaken almost entirely the soft melodic material that turned up in several places on the first two albums in favor of the big beat.
		I'm tempted to describe this as a transition album, but it clearly isn't as the band hasn't decided whether it wants to be the power trio or the quintet of Children of the Future and Sailor.
		One of the high points of the album is the drumming of Davis, especially on his own "Can't You Hear Your Daddy's Heartbeat," a hard-driving ode to lust.

		His next film, DUST DEVIL (1992) was as wildly visual and cinematically unique as his previous work, and BRAVE is a further exploration into surreal cinema with Marillion providing the soundtrack and loosely fitted plot about a troubled young girl driven to attempted suicide by her use of drugs, excessive alienation and traumatic rape.
		The BRAVE film can easily be called the band's most ambitious endeavor yet, as it was their first exploration into film, a daunting task that eclipsed all of their previous work with music video.
		The album plays from start to finish as the film shows the woman and what she's going through, which in places is quite harrowing.

	The Iron Maiden Commentary
		Brave New World is somewhat of a misnomer in that the album blazes very little new ground, but instead reiterates the brilliant genius which has carried Iron Maiden throughout their career.
		All of the best elements from the previous 15 years are combined into one amazing album which is sure to please both old and new fans alike, as well as put to shame certain other formerly heavy metal bands who have abandoned the true path.
		If this is indeed the case, then the "brave new world" is Earth and the Apocalyptic event I wrote of earlier is that of the expulsion from Eden – a subtle biblical allusion which demonstrates the complexity and depth of Iron Maiden's lyrics.

		When judging which Pixies album is the best+ you might as well toss a coin+ because+ after all+ we are dealing with varying degrees of near-perfection.
		This actually is the last Pixies album I bought (due to the fact that itÃ½s so freakin hard to find) but I finally got it and it was a perfect start for the ultimate alt rock group.
		This album+ although it is the renowned "Purple Tape" that launched the Pixies" career+ it is not an essential.

		The frustrating thing about Brave is, O'Neal does both the MOR pop and mainstream country well, but they don't sit comfortably together on an album.
		There are too many shifts in tone and mood to make this album an easy album to hear from beginning to end and, worse of all, there's not a knockout single in either style to give listeners a way into the record.
		O'Neal has a powerful voice and is a sturdy songwriter who does sound good in both the pop and country settings, but she hasn't yet come up with a way to reconcile both sides within her music, nor has she committed to following one style or another.
