Brave New World (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brave New World is the twelfth studio album by Iron Maiden released on the 30th of May, 2000 (see 2000 in music).
The album was a success with the fans of the band, and "The Wicker Man", "Ghost of the Navigator", the title track, "Out of the Silent Planet" and "Blood Brothers" are all established as band classics.
The album art and title song are references to the novel of the same name (see Brave New World).

 Feature Reviews - Styx
If the music contained on the new disc was more like the earlier efforts of the band, this would be a bad thing, but since his material was what it is his departure leaves a raw taste in few fans' mouths.
Again, to me, this album sounds like each vocalist was given a certain number of songs that they would be performing on the album, and then submitted their respective recordings into the pot.
If there is to be another new album in the future, I would hope that they learn from BNW and make it more of a "group effort" next time around.

Brave New World by Iron Maiden Songfacts
This is the title track to Maiden's 2000 "reunion" album, in which former band members Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith returned to write new songs and perform music reminiscent of their "golden era".
The song is based on the 1932 novel by Aldous Huxley about a futuristic, supposedly happy world where everyone is controlled by a totalitarian system that completely and utterly manipulates their feelings and movements.
The tour was called the "Brave New World Tour" in most places, but in Europe was called "Metal 2000." Like the "World Slavery Tour", it featured Eddie on stage.

Maiden said that this is not a reunion album, but more of an all new Maiden sound to continue the legacy they once started.
"Brave New World" continues the same route, with a beautiful intro, as Bruce's vocals shine through out in a sing-along fashion.
The album closes with "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate," and it's a fairly nice closer, althought not nearly as good as say Rime..or Alexander..but it has many different moods which make it worth listening.

During the show we got a taste of the new album when they played the song "Wildest Dreams", and while I didn't find that song all that remarkable, it rose to a level of quality that maintained my excitement.
And I firmly believe that this new album is, overall (apart from the abysmal cover art), of the outstanding quality I am generally accustomed to receiving from this band.

The band tried to continue on with new guitarist Janick Gers, but something was different.

This question made Brave New World one of the most highly anticipated metal releases of 2000, and thankfully, the answer is a resounding yes.
In fact, the album pretty much picks up exactly where the classic lineup left off on 1988's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and most old-school fans will probably be so elated with the band's faithful rediscovery of their classic sound that only repeated listens will reveal the album's human flaws.
Like the aforementioned Seventh Son, Brave New World's metallic riffage allows for a greater sense of space than early Maiden albums (as well as the use of subtle keyboard textures in a supporting role) while featuring a beefier, in-your-face mix à la Piece of Mind.

Fort Worth Weekly Online -- fwweekly.com | Music | Brave New World
Each year for the past three, Brave Combo has released an album that is, at least on first listen, so musically different from its predecessor that it seems it must have come from a different band.
What distinguishes this album from previous efforts is that it sees the band collaborating with Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, a Grammy-nominated duo specializing in music for the youth market.
The Maryland-based children's act approached Brave Combo after catching their 1997 performance at the Live Oak Music Festival in Santa Barbara, Calif. Watching the crowd of children and adults shake their booties and other assorted body parts to the high-energy music, Fink and Marxer began toying with the notion of a collaboration.

Often when you hear an album by an actor - some recent examples certainly come to mind - you might think that this person really is neither a singer or a musician and is just being force fed the lines one by one to sell the album based on their name.
Of the seven songs on Brave New World none are what you would call "bad." In fact, there are several that are outstanding.
Bill Burchell took care of the keyboards and sequencing, but he's also credited with "really bad puns." Certainly that last one is a very important function in the recording of any album.
