Bray (Bré, formerly Brí Chulainn in Irish) is a suburban town in north County Wicklow, Ireland.
Bray is the eighth largest town in Ireland with a population of 26,985 inhabitants, as at the 2006 Census.
The town is on the coast, Shankill, County Dublin is to the north, and Greystones, County Wicklow is to the south.

Mildred N. Bray was herself first appointed to the same position in December 8, 1937, then elected for consecutive 4 year terms from 1939 to 1950, in which year she ran for re-election but was defeated by Glen A. Duncan.
Her father, John Edwards Bray, was principal of Reno High School at the time of her birth and the students had participated in the event by suggesting names in a sort of contest-her name was pulled from a hat.
Miss Bray once wrote that during a period of seventy-five years, there was not one year in which some member of her family was not involved in education.
