The Harbourmaster's Office is at the SW end of the harbour, near the entrance to Little Crabby Harbour.
The Dinghy pontoon, dinghy slipway, showers, toilets, launderette, telephones, chandlers and a skip for rubbish are all nearby; the launderette is in the same building as the showers, and uses £1 coins - both are open 24 hours a day in the summer, but the showers are closed in the winter.
The nearest post box is at the Railway Station at the crossroads at the end of Braye Street, about 1.1/2 cables S of the harbour; only Alderney and Guernsey stamps may be used.

The Alderney Sailing Club, adjacent to the Harbour Office, is open from 1800-2000 every day during the summer and Thursday to Sunday during the winter and welcomes visiting yachtsmen.
For Customs clearance, Braye is the only port of entry, and all vessels entering from outside the Bailiwick of Guernsey must complete a customs form - UK forms are not valid.
All Charter angling and diving vessels that intend to visit Braye Harbour should be aware that the jurisdiction of the MCA does not extend to the Channel Islands and that each of the main Channel Islands has its own Merchant Shipping legislation.

BRAYE Harbour will have to be taken out of Alderney’s green belt to allow essential works to take place.
If the harbour falls outside the maritime and port security requirements of the Solas (Safety of Life at Sea) convention, which must be implemented by July, international traffic will be banned from entering the harbour.
The committee said that the best way of resolving the matter would be to take the harbour out of the green belt.

The United Kingdom is responsible for the defence of all of the Channel Islands, the Bailiwick of Guernsey, which includes Alderney, and the Bailiwick of Jersey.
How Guernsey's maintenance of the Alderney breakwater, at an approximate cost of £450,000 per annum, contributes to the defence of the United Kingdom and to meeting the United Kingdom's NATO commitments.
