There's no rest for the weary as Breach struggles to adjust to his transformation, the loss of everyone he loved, and the incredible number of years that have passed him by.
Breach's nemesis the Herdsman is depicted in such a exaggerated way that the inevitable comparison to our titular hero is more jarring.
Everything leads to the battle between Breach and his opposite number and the art is vital to pulling the readers in.

The chasm between Breach and Captain Atom is not quite so vast as the creative team believes.
Breach may improve, but at the moment, mediocrity is the watch word.
Breach's origin bears similarity to the onset of Penny Farthing's Para, which was far more intriguing and used science to produce something highly entertaining and readable.

Richard is one of those people I envy with regards to comics; he came to the medium late in life with no preconceptions or attachments (at least, in terms of American comics--maybe if people beg, we can get Richard to talk about his experiences with manga during his year in Japan).
Comics in public libraries are something about which the industry and comics-readers everywhere should be happy.
Comics collectors will continue to be comics collectors, whether or not they read some of their titles from borrowed collections.

Broken Frontier | The Portal for Quality Comics Coverage!
Breach is supposed to be a new redesign of Captain Atom, (a character I am admittedly not very familiar with), pitched by former Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief, Bob Harras.
The story potential lies in the idea that this does not seem to be a comic about superhero antics and the monthly battle against the latest evil Rogue.
The debut of Breach is a pleasure to look at and has a story with heart and humanity at its core, which is certainly more than you can say about the average superhero comic, however, it has a plot we’ve seen a thousand times.

NEWSARAMA - "BREACH"-ING THE DCU WITH BOB HARRAS
Breach is story of Major Tim Zanetti, a United States Army officer who is forced to live in a containment suit after events go awry during some Army cross-dimensional research.
Breach is the brainchild of former Marvel Comic Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras who was asked by DC Comics to pitch a redesign for Captain Atom, who hasn’t had a solo regular series since 1991.
Harras said that he realized that having Breach as a new character as opposed to a relaunch took a bit of the load off his shoulders, “Certainly, if we had gone with a Captain Atom relaunch, the pressures would have involved tinkering with a much-loved character that has been around for decades.

Talent Pool 24 - Murphy Anderson (Jun 2001)
Anderson demonstrates this principle, both as a fond follower of pulp literature and as an enthusiast of both comic books and newspaper comics, a taste perhaps initially developed by his mother's use of comics as a tool to teach the young Anderson to read (an approach also used on the author of this column).
Anderson came to comics from a background as a consumer - to some degree of comic books, but more so as a reader of the adventure strips of the heyday of newspaper comics in the thirties - and would return to science fiction material at some point during every decade of his comics career.
As DC Comics increasingly recognized Anderson's abilities as a finisher, decision-makers continued to pursue the specialist approach to comics art.

Non-genre comics have been blazing this trail for over a decade now, for no other reason than that they really have had no reason not to, and every reason in the world to move away from the market that demanded the pamphlet format the most -- it wasn't buying what they had to sell regardless.

Realistically, I don't think BREACH is going to do any better than Manhunter or Bloodhound, but the artwork may give it a boost (however the art for Manhunter and Bloodhound is very good as well).

Of course, if the story decompression continues to follow the standards that have pretty much sunk all other recent superhero debuts, we’re in for an issue where he learns to harness his powers, another where he learns the “truth”, one where he gets assigned the big mission, and another where he learns the REAL truth.

The fascinating thing about Secret Service: Secrurity Breach is that it has one of the best graphics engines I've seen, in a budget game.
One is how supernaturally quick the enemies react to you, combined with their dead aim and the fact that they will keep shooting at you even while going through a recoil animation that snaps their head back and makes their gun weave erratically.
Although Security Breach certainly looks nice with it's surprisingly advanced eye candy, it falls short in nearly every other respect, with the lack of save games being the decisive nail in the coffin.
