Breakfast in America is the sixth album by the band Supertramp.
In "Breakfast in America" Supertramp talks about having kippers for breakfast; "Could we have kippers for breakfast?" This is not a common American breakfast.

Many classic songs, a couple of which have recently been redone by some “artists” emerged from "Breakfast in America." The first song which comes to mind is "The Logical song" which I’ve heard being sung by some stupid high-pitched warped voiced, I’ve no idea who sings it but it disgraces the song.
All the songs on "Breakfast in America" are very fun to listen to and they are generally quite short, up beat and happy.
As the name suggests "Breakfast in America" is primarily an album about America, and it talks of how it looks perfect, but when one arrives, it’s suddenly not all that amazing.

Having let "Breakfast In America" grow cold over the years, believing I'd outgrown its surfeit of sweetness, I was delighted to find that I had plenty of good taste even at the tender age of thirteen.
"Breakfast In America" is one of the more commercial songs ever I listened to and yet immortal (and togheter with "Moonlight Shadow" of Mike Oldfield and "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" of the YES one of the most transmitted fron the radio still today!!!).
Breakfast in America may have been the commercial peak of the band’s career, and it was definitely a very solid album.

Though certainly not a "concept" album, the theme for "Breakfast In America" came from bandleaders Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies, who, for this album, wanted to write songs about what it was like to be a British person living in the USA, which is what the whole band were doing by this time.
