Visualisation of the joint positions achieved during the flexibility measurements for subjects at the 25% and 75% percentile (situated in percentile scales of the total reference population of 267 women and 307 men: swimmers of at least national level in one stroke in the age group).
These relative shortcomings can be explained by the fact that breaststrokers have to rotate the feet outwards to propel, according to the rules (and not inwards as in the other strokes), and that they do not use the finishing ‘arm-push’ action (as in the other strokes).
If this breaststroke specialist would have been biologically mature (16 years), she should primarily train strength-endurance and explosive strength (C, central square); indeed, her best distance is 200 to 100m and most of her strength scores are below the mean of swimmers at international level.

Always do sprints for breaststrokers in the first 30-40 minutes of workout, "because studies have shown that after 20-30 minutes the fast twitch muscle fibers were completely depleted of ATP-CP and slow twitch fibers use their ATP-CP more sparingly, so only slow twitch fibers are still available for work".
