Andrew Bree set a new Irish record in the 200 metres breaststroke at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium today.
Bree's time of 2:11.30 minutes beat Gary O'Toole's 11-year-old record by.05 seconds, improving his own best by 1.5 seconds.
Bree was placed 10th overall with the top eight making the final tonight.

Winners in 2001 but only quarterfinalists last year, Belgium has named a full strength team with world No. 4 Justine Henin-Hardenne drawn to face Patricia Wartusch in the second singles.
Belgium will start overwhelming favourites against an Austria team lacking the out-of-form Barbara Schett, but Henin-Hardenne said the home side would not be taking anything for granted.

We are in Bree Belgium visiting our son, and need to get to Schiphol airport in Amsterdam...any ideas on the best train route..We want to train directly to the airport and maybe stay at the Sheraton..we would leave Sunday, spend the night and leave at 10:00 Mon.
According to www.ns.nl, there are direct trains from Brussels South every hour at 37 minutes past, stopping in Antwerp and taking 2hr45 to Schiphol.
Schiphol is only 20 minutes by train from Amsterdam Central, so if your 10am indicates the time you need to leave an airport hotel to check in, you could stay in Amsterdam itself overnight and have a more interesting evening than in an airport hotel.
