ADOA has again been in touch with the Township of Oxford, MI in regards to their pending breed specific legislation.
A Township committee met on 3/6/02 to discuss the Breed Specific Ordinance that first appeared in early February.
We recommend all of the ADOA members in Michigan send letters to that city council urging them to repeal the unfair breed specific ban.

We have received a fax of proposed legislation by the city of Villisca, Iowa that is breed specific.
Originally, the state of Iowa had proposed breed specific legislation, but has since withdrawn it and submitted a Dangerous Dog bill.
On Friday, August 29th, a lawsuit challenging the city's ban on pit-bull terriers was filed in Wapello County District Court by the Iowa Pet Breeders Association, Satacy Lynee Mathias and the American Canine Foundation.
