  Alpine Climbing on the Breithorn, Swiss Alps
The Breithorn (4164 meters, 13,658 feet) comprises a long ridge line which makes up the western end of the still more massive frontier crest stretching from Monte Rosa, over the multiple summits of the Liskamm Gruppe, and past the twin peaks of Castor and Pollux.
The Breithorn normal route is probably the easiest 4000 meter peak in the Alps.
Further along the ridge to the east are the twin peaks of Pollux and Castor.

The lady in the shelter told us that there are many crevasses and that five people died on this track a week ago, so we definitely shouldn't go there without a rope.
But when we arrived at Breithorn Pass we saw about fifty people going on the track to Breithorn so we figured out that it must be safe to go there.
I had my face under the hood but still the sun rays reflected from the snow were so intense that we got really nasty sunburns.

From here we cross the Breithorn Plateau, traverse the south, Italian, side of the Breithorn to the foot of the South Ridge of Pollux.
