		Naturally, I have to run Brendan Canty's drumming up a flagpole and salute because his stunning talent continually impresses me. In on the Kill Taker seems to be a somewhat overlooked Fugazi album but rest assured it is certainly one of their most fulfilling pieces of work.
		The rhythm section of Brendan Canty and Joe Lally enjoyed a lot of space and area to work on the recording and while the music flies off in many unexpected tangents, these two calmly keep the lower end in check.
		Between the percussive expressiveness of Brendan Canty (joined by longtime roadie Jerry Busher on second drums and extra percussion for several tracks) and the imaginative guitars of Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto, The Argument is a vibrant, dynamic record that transcends all forms of modern rock music.

		Canty and Green decided to shoot all the bands in the living room of the house in a single day, with each act playing only one song.
		Green and Canty are in postproduction on the Chicago "Burn to Shine," which they plan to screen locally in May and release on DVD in June.

		After the seminal hardcore punk group Minor Threat dissolved, Ian MacKaye (vocals and guitar) was active with a few mostly short-lived groups, (notably early emo-core band, Embrace) before forming a new trio, Fugazi, with drummer Brendan Canty (of Rites of Spring) and bass guitarist Joe Lally.
		Fugazi are currently on what the band describes as a "hiatus," partly brought on by the recent forays into fatherhood by Canty and Lally, and may or may not reunite in the future.
		In the meantime, the members are currently undertaking side projects, with MacKaye forming the duo The Evens with Amy Farina (formerly of the Warmers), and Canty doing a variety of soundtrack scores and playing bass in the trio Garland Of Hours with frequent Fugazi guest contributors Jerry Busher and Amy Domingues.

		Their sole recording was done in November of 1986 at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, VA. It was engineered by Don Zientara and produced by Ian MacKaye, who Canty and Picciotto would later join in the band Fugazi.
		One Last Wish broke up shortly after mixing was completed, and as a result the album was not released until 13 years later in November of 1999, on MacKaye's Dischord Records label.
		After the band's breakup, Picciotto, Janney and Canty would reunite with Michael Fellows of Rites of Spring, taking on the new name Happy Go Licky.

		I have a feeling it will grow on me. This CD is much more Lois-influenced than Brendan, as she sings all the songs; her voice is beautiful, and her acoustic guitar-playing is first class.
		This is a CD that certainly doesn't have anything resembling the driving beats of Fugazi (or any other Brendan Canty project I know of), but it is catchy and pleasing in it's own way.
		Her vocals are powerful and Brendan Canty's influence is simply delicious.
