		She couldn't convince the gorilla to give her Brent and Nova, but she could trick one gorilla into giving her the key and the other into believing the door can be locked twice?
		Beneath the Planet of the Apes offers none of the interesting elements of its predecessor, which is surprising because it works so hard at plundering it for the good parts.

		She is the only person to play both a human and an ape in the series.

		The sequel to this unquestionably closed little tale features Zira, Cornelius and Milo returning to Earth in one of the spaceships (hm, wonder if they pulled Taylor's craft out of that lake, or rebuilt Brent's?).
		Doctor Zaius (Maurice Evans) was one of the best characters in Planet of the Apes, a respected anthropologist who does unethical things to preserve the ape way of life.
		Taylor is also shot, and with his last bit of strength, detonates the Mutant's "God" Bomb, utterly obliterating The Planet of the Apes (aka Earth) and everyone on it.

		Nova, Zira, Cornelius, and Dr. Zaius are back, and the story revolved around Brent journeying into the ruins of New York City, where he finds a cult of atom bomb-worshipping mutants who have captured Taylor-- they pray to 'the Almighty Bomb and the Holy Fallout', and religiously advocate the concept of mutually-assured destruction (MAD).
		This time, the story followed the adventures of Brent (James Franciscus), an astronaut who crash-lands in the Forbidden Zone after following Taylor's original trajectory.
		Despite attempts by Dr. Zaius (Maurice Evans), the head of the Ape Assembly, to protect the status quo by having him destroyed, Taylor escapes, and rides off into the sunset with Nova.

		I bought an extra Zira and Cornelius for my desk at work and they are the center of attention by all who see them.
