Brian began his career as a comedy back-up for a daytime soap were he played the part of a hospital security guard whose ambition was to eat as much of the hospital food as possible.
Under the pressure of such an immense production, Brian’s mind snapped and he began to think that he really was the starship captain that he was portraying.
While Brian was on loan from the ‘Student Film and Video Association’, the members of the ‘ADDhour’ talked Brian into leaving the starship set to shoot a comedy skit about an elevator ride.

Daley gives us a look into Han and Chewbacca's early smuggling career and takes them from caper to caper and thrill to thrill in the Corporate Sector Authority (nice change from the Empire, by the way).
Brian also did the radio dramas but sadly died before seeing the expanded universe explode into what it has become.
Daley's portrayal of Han Solo is faithful to the films, and he gives Chewbacca something to do besides hoot and grow hair.

The late Brian Daley added scenes and dialog not in the film or novels, and actor Anthony Daniels (C3PO) provides an introduction describing the recording process.
Daley also penned a thoughtfully written introduction that takes you behind the scenes and talks about the history of the production.
For Jedi, Daley added a whole nother layer to the story, by expanding and or adding scenes, that were not part of the film.

He was assigned to ASA and worked for the "A Team" in the G2 Security section of the Berlin Brigade.

Brian Daley is the only SW author whose writing I regard as canon.
I read an Brian Daley interview I found awhile back, and in it he said that, when he signed to do THE HAN SOLO ADVENTURES, LucasFilm told him he could not feature the Empire, the Rebellion, X-wings, Y-wings; basically nothing but Han, Chewie, and the Falcon.

First of all, you must know that Brian Daley has been my favorite author for several years and all his books have captivated me like no other books have (except the best of classic sci-fi/fantasy).
What Daley created was a pair of great characters and some top-notch adventure sci-fi.
Brian Daley is at his best with this book, his writing captivates the reader with vivid descriptions of the environment to the point you really feel you have "been there", and the interaction of the two friends is such that it often seems as if these are people you really know.

Brian Daley's first novel, The Doomfarers of Coramonde, was published on the first Del Rey list in 1977.
It was an immediate success, and Brian went on to write its sequel, The Starfollowers of Coramonde, and many other successful novels: A Tapestry of Magics, three volumes of The Adventures of Hobart Floyt and Alacrity Fitzhugh, and, under the shared pseudonym Jack McKinney, ten and one half of the twenty-one Robotech novels.
He first conceived of the complex GammaLAW saga in Nepal, in 1984, and worked on its four volumes for the next twelve years, finishing it shortly before his death in 1996.

Ten or so years ago, the late Brian Daley wrote three somewhat tongue-in-cheek space operas about Hobart Floyt, an Earth Service Functionary Third Class, and Alacrity FitzHugh, an extra-terrestrial who's flmailed into guarding him.
The first two, Requiem for a Ruler of Worlds and Jinx on a Terran Inheritance are very good; we read them aloud with great success.
Recently, friends of Daley's created a website dedicated to the man and his work.
