BRIAN HYLAND: Six Degrees Of Separation!
"BRIAN HYLAND GREATEST HITS" on MCA shows the many sides of Brian's recording catalog with 18 tracks out of 22 chart hits recorded over eleven years.
Vocally and artistically Brian has been called "chameleonesque" for all his musical changes, having produced Hits for five different labels and successfully recorded everything from Novelty to Pop Ballads; to Folk Rock and Country Rock; to Pop Rock and Pop Soul, over more than a decade from 1960 through 1971.
On stage, Brian plays a mean rhythm/lead Fender Stratocaster and blues harp in an eclectic set of Country-Blues, Roots-Rock, most of his Hits and some new original songs.

Brian Hyland - Music Downloads - Online
Bio: Brian Hyland's puppy-love pop virtually defined the sound and sensibility of bubblegum during the pre-Beatles era.
While Hyland's music clearly anticipated the folk-rock and country-rock that would blossom in the years to follow, he seemed hopelessly out of touch in contrast to the British Invasion acts now dominating pop radio, and his commercial fortunes rapidly dwindled.
Hyland continued his active touring schedule in the decades to follow, often performing with son Bodi on drums.

Brian was born November 12, 1943, in Brooklyn/Queens, New York City, where his first musical experience ranged from church choir at nine, to clarinet and guitar, to his first local harmony group, the Delfis.
Not to be deterred, by this simple twist of fate, Brian quickly moved on to ABC Records, in 1961, sharing their short pop roster with The Impressions and Ray Charles, where he cut a string of chart records with the NY writing/production team of Gary Geld and Peter Udell.
Brian Hyland continues to tour around the U.S. and the world with songwriting partner Rosmari and their favorite rock drummer, son Bodi, performing classic Rock and Roll.

Its theme of temporary parting was empathetic to the plight of many love struck teenagers and the song returned to the UK Top 10 in 1975 before being revived in 1990 by Jason Donovan.
Hyland continued to enjoy US chart entries, notably with "The Joker Went Wild" and "Run, Run, Look And See" (both 1966), but reasserted his career in 1970 with a sympathetic version of the Impressions' "Gypsy Woman".
This third million-seller was produced by long-time friend Del Shannon, who co-wrote several tracks on the attendant album, but this rekindled success proved short-lived and the artist later ceased recording.

Brian Hyland got his first taste of stardom while still a sophomore in high school; his chart-topping hit, Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini, has been a staple of novelty compilations for nearly 40 years.
As he reached his latter teen years, Hyland morphed into the Bobby Vee/Bobby Vinton/Gene Pitney teen idol mold popular at the time and connected with a classic girlfriend leaving for the summer pop song, Sealed With A Kiss. By 1970, at the age of 27, Hyland was already on his sixth label, Uni.
Hyland is surprisingly effective as a blue-eyed soul singer on Jackie Wilson's "Lonely Teardrops," and with the help of a fuzz-guitar, Larry Williams' "Slow Down" is turned into a credible blues-rock shout.
