 Colin James/ Brian Adams
James is so good at the blues/rock sound he's become known for that he can take a song like that and, rather than blaspheme it, transform it into something magical and, yes, better than it originally was.
James received a huge, standing ovation, and by the end of the night no one seemed to be talking about Bryan Adams - Colin James was the main topic of discussion.
James, of course, dwarfed Adams and his guitarist when it came to the guitar playing, especially when James was urged to stay for a second song and the three alternated between guitar solos, but that's what made it so fun.

The Tech - MBTA Will Allow Amplified Music in Subway
Brian James, a vocalist and guitarist who has been a subway musician for two years, said that some of the designated locations are unreasonable because “nobody stands there,” and that would cut deeply into musician earnings.
James thinks that imposing a sound level limit is also understandable, although he said he personally rarely receives complaints about being too loud.
He said he had taught music for several years to teenagers with behavioral problems, but the job “needed lots of time and energy.” James said that his commitment to this occupation prevented him from performing, so he quit, and turned to subway performance as a means of contributing to his income.

Brian Eno is MORE DARK THAN SHARK
In 1975, Brian Eno, the man whose young career already had more than enough innovation, daring, and radiant genius to secure his legend, was in a car accident that left him bedridden.
His friend Judy Nylon popped by with that fateful record of 18th Century harp music, which Eno, with much strain and stress, put on when she had left, not noticing that he had failed to sufficiently turn up the volume on his stereo.
In 1976, when rock amps were continuing their banal journey up to 11, Eno turned his down to near-zero and managed to grab attention anyway.

The Racketeers is a guitar showcase, however, and in spite of the impressive credentials of the various rhythm-makers, it is the slash-and-burn dueling six-strings of Kramer and James that dominate the proceedings.
The material here is not that dissimilar from that which Kramer kicked out on a trio of studio albums for Epitaph, overlooked classics that showcased his vastly underrated guitar style and ever-maturing songwriting skills.
James' pipes are weaker but meet the challenge of the material, sometimes sounding like former bandmate Stiv Bators; other times -— as on the lively “I Want It” -— James sounds like a young Iggy Pop.

Since women are still in the overwhelming, overwhelmed minority of musicians, it's difficult to discuss female performers without making at least a discreet reference or two to their gender.
The artists that seem to escape this curse are, sadly, the ones that conform to sexist stereotypes, depicted as weak, submissive, and desperate to subsume their identities in a romantic relationship.
Drummer Chris Searles, the only other musician on Two, is as sympathetic a partner as Perry could ask for, keeping busy without becoming intrusive.
