BRIAN NAYLOR, NPR REPORTER: 100 years ago, the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico became a U.S. territory, a result of the U.S. victory in the Spanish-American War.
NAYLOR: In the end, lawmakers for all intents and purposes voted to kill Solomon's amendment by requiring only that Puerto Rico be subject to the same language requirements as other states.

Let's start with Brian Naylor's story, because it's so seemingly innocuous and therefore insidious: the premise of the story: the federal budget surplus may be just an illusion.
What Naylor did in his report is go from one guy saying that there is actually no budget surplus to another guy who says the budget surplus shouldn't be in the hands of the government.
The most charitable inference is that Naylor, thinking he ought to be balanced in his reporting of the story, somehow thought that this was the way to do so, and really wasn't paying that much attention to what the Cato Institute's guy was saying.

Brian Naylor was a director of six companies, all in the motor trade, and during his motor racing career extending from 1953 to 1961 raced a diverse selection of cars, all of which were prepared at his Wellington Road South premises in Stockport.
Naylor drove the JBW-Maserati on its debut in the British Empire Trophy at Oulton Park finishing third in the 2000cc heat to a brace of Lotus 15s and taking fifith on the final.
Naylor undertook a fuller season in 1960, comprising of the International Trophy, Monaco (where he failed to qualify), the British GP, the Silver City Trophy at Brands Hatch, the Italian GP, Snetterton, Oulton Park and the American GP at Riverside.

Brian was honored for this accomplishment on Friday, February 15, at the Glens Falls Recreation Center during "Senior Night" where former Indians Coach, Doc Miller, presented him with a plaque and the actual puck, Brian scored his point with.
Brian finishes with an amazing 70 goals, 106 assists, for 176 career points and is currently in 4th place.
Naylor scored shorthanded at 1:35 of the second period, which La Salle (4-2-0, 9-7-0) answered with 5-on-3 power-play goal by Mike Hursa at 13:26.

Stockport motor dealer Brian Naylor was a semi-professional driver who made his name in the 1950s as one of the few British drivers to compete regularly in continental events.
In 1959 Naylor arranged for his chief mechanic Fred Wilkinson to build an F1 car based on a Cooper single seater.

He was unusual amongst the British drivers of the era as he regularly raced abroad and made a point of having unusual car and engine combinations in order to attract start money to help him pay for his racing.
It was not seen again until the start of the 1960 season when Naylor ran it in the International Trophy at Silverstone.
