DVD Reviewer - Review of WWE: Brian Pillman - Loose Cannon
In his youth, Pillman was a consummate athlete, known to team-mates to have Olympic-level determination to succeed.
The story was that Pillman had been awake for days, getting so deep into the Loose Cannon character that he was frightening his wife Melanie, who hated him for refusing to quell the act when he was around her.
Pillman did manage to the return to the ring in 1997, though a shadow of his former self.

 Brian Pillman - Definition, explanation
Brian Pillman (May 22, 1962 - October 5, 1997) was a professional wrestler in the 1980s and 1990s.
Pillman used his "Loose Cannon" gimmick to secure a release from his WCW contract (alledgedly under the guise of being "fired" for his conduct), and would briefly appear for Extreme Championship Wrestling before heading to the WWF, to become the first wrestler to ever signed a guaranteed deal with the WWF.
Pillman wrestled sporadically in 1997, aligning himself with the Hart Foundation and feuding with Goldust.

Brian Pillman: Loose Cannon DVD Movie Review by AceGamez
This DVD covers Brian Pillman's entire life, from his American Football career to his initial wrestling training by Stu Hart in the legendary 'Dungeon', whose students have included Chris Benoit, Lance Storm and of course Bret Hart and the rest of his brothers.
Despite everything being scripted, Pillman went against this so often that he rattled a lot of performers who were unable to tell exactly what Pillman would do next, and this would lead to his eventual firing from WCW for scaring Bobby Heenan so much that he swore on live TV.
Brian Pillman had no effect on me while he was alive, but this DVD has made it so that in after death he will always be remembered and it justly respects what he contributed to the industry.

I believe that Pillman's main contribution to American wrestling was that he, along with Jushin "Thunder" Liger and The Rockers helped to increase the popularity of light heavyweights in an era where the musclemen dominated.
I had the opportunity to see him on June 22, 1997 at the WWF card in Salt Lake City with other foundation members, I booed him then, but that's only because he was clearly a heel in the days that the line between face and heel wasn't clearly defined.
