Skinner’s time and talents have paid off in a big way, as he has been awarded a highly competitive Barry M. Goldwater scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Skinner is the son of Kristian and Carolina Skinner of St. Anthony, Idaho.
Skinner has won departmental scholarships in physics as well as scholarships in the College of Science and College of Engineering, a National Merit Scholarship, and a Presidential Campus Enrichment Grant.

After a college career at Baylor University, Skinner was the 22nd pick of the 1998 NBA Draft, selected by the Los Angeles Clippers.
He has since played for the Clippers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Sacramento Kings, averaging 5.7 points per game.
