Another Brick in the Wall - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is a protest song against rigid schooling in general and boarding schools in particular [1](which has led to it being banned in several countries).
In 1980, the song was adopted as a protest anthem by fl students during the "Elsie's River" uprising in South Africa, protesting against the racial propaganda and bias in the official curriculum.
This part of the song establishes the idea of everything being "another brick in the wall" - another thing that causes Pink to slowly disassociate himself from society.

Jethro Tull and the Long Song
Thick as a Brick was quickly labelled a "concept album," primarily because the entire album focussed on the central topic of a poem that we are to believe was written by the eight-year-old Gerald ("Little Milton") Bostock.
While its album-cover art is perhaps the most obviously innovative aspect of Thick as a Brick at first glance, and while the lyrics can be seen as an impressive accomplishment in terms of their sheer scale and complexity, the music itself constitutes an important achievement both for Tull as well as for progressive rock.
The interesting thing about Thick as a Brick is that while Tull employ both of these techniques, Tull also employ a technique of varied and developed thematic return, coordinated with tonal return, that is far more common in classical music than it is in rock (though this technique appears in a lot of progressive rock).

Songs cut off abruptly, fade unexpectedly or drop out entirely for a moment as if someone at the mixing desk hit the wrong button at some point.
The song is played with both runs through the opening riff (as heard in the film), but there is no harmonizing guitar part during the chromatic riff that leads into the verses and closes the song.
Because of the maturity of the music, it stands to reason that we're hearing a rough mix of what we hear on the album, although the schizophrenic nature of the lyrics shows that the tune was still in a great deal of flux at this stage.

Bernie Taupin had a literal avalanche of songs stored up in his head and, after being channeled through his pen, was accurately interpreted and communicated by the showy and talented Elton John.
The memorable highlight of this issue is "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", at least for me. The opulence of Elton's piano and his voice on this song as well as the choir of voices that accompany him are simply beautiful.

Another Brick in the wall is ONE of their most famous songs EVER, however any hardcore fan of Pink Floyd would appreciate the sheer mastermind of Roger Waters' writing in the song but the song itself sucks.
