Their second album, The Bridge (1995) was another great album, which sold over 5 million copies - OK, it's a lot less than The Sign, but it's still the kind of sales most bands only dream of.
This album didn't get nearly as much attention in the states as the debut album 'The Sign' did, but if you were a fan of that album you'll probably like this one as well.
Bridge~ Ace of Base being their sophmore album is a very nice pop album with lyrics are ok if a bit poorly written at times.

The Bridge is an Ace of Base album composed during 1994 and 1995.
The band was still promoting their previous album and so work on The Bridge was infrequent during much of 1994.
This mistake was later corrected, and current versions of the album are somewhat standard.

The Bridge   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-23)
Until the construction of the Ben Franklin Bridge in the early part of the 20th century, the only way to cross the lower Delaware River was by ferry boat; Walt Whitman ventured back and forth from industrial Camden this way.
While the original plan for the bridge called for the demolition of St. George's Church, the oldest Methodist church in the United States, a lawsuit resulted in the relocation of the bridge and a modest 14 foot space between the church and the Philadelphia base of the bridge.
The bridge was re-named for Benjamin Franklin in 1956.

As their albums became progressively more adventurous, The Graduate Original Soundtrack was immediately followed in April 1968 at the top of the charts by Bookends, which dealt with increasingly complex themes of old age and loss.
Their long-delayed final album, Bridge Over Troubled Water, was at last released on January 26, 1970.

Not long after their highly successful album, Bridge over Troubled Water (1970), Simon split with Garfunkel and pursued a solo career, releasing the album Paul Simon in 1972.
His folk-inflected and often introspective songs of the 1970s are typified by the album Still Crazy after All These Years (1975).
Simon broadened his themes in Graceland (1986), one of the most popular albums of the decade, which featured several African musicians, including the South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

I bought this album because of This is the Time, it's a great song with a great beat.
The album's one lowlight is the predictable and insipidly sappy "This Is The Time", which has become prom fodder.
The final "bridge" is that the songs on this album hark back to Billy's earlier albums, such as, "52nd Street" and "The Stranger".

Her message is profound while her music is mainstream, and with songs such as "Let Go and Let God", Carrick has found a way to express her faith in a universal manner.
Her folk-rock approach and sweet, soaring vocals are inspirational, giving this album an appeal that is reminiscent in sound to early Joni Mitchell.
With "The Bridge" she not only finds God's hands in all things, she made the perfect album for a troubled world.

Thomas Leer and Robert Rental - The Bridge
Originally released on the Industrial label back in 1979, The Bridge is now seeing the light of day once more in 1992 with this CD re-release on Mute's Grey Area subsidiary.
While Throbbing Gristle's notoriety (and associated spinoffs) has kept their name permanently in view (at least as far as industrial fans are concerned) and both Clock DVA and Cabaret Voltaire have stayed the course, neither Rental nor Leer are particularly evident today.
Rental recorded one single and a live album (with The Normal) after The Bridge then disappeared, Leer had an unsuccessful career as a sort of solo Heaven 17 then teamed up with Claudia Brücken for the short-lived Act.

TARA2017 : Out Of The Air - Davy Spillane Band
As the months passed the creative side of the band developed towards a more 'rock' direction and with the successful blend of styles and musicians that featured on the 'Atlantic Bridge' it was suggested by producer PJ Curtis that Rory Gallagher should guest on some recordings with Davy's band.
It therefore came as something of a shock to settle down for a Thursday evening with Kershaw's show last spring and be pinned to the armchair by session versions of tunes from the album that savaged the loudspeakers and simply trampled all over the familiar album tracks when it came to pure attack and energy.
For those of you who have 'Atlantic Bridge' this album is very much worth getting, because the repeated tracks are different and exciting enough to warrant having them anyway, and the Rory Gallagher tracks have all that sparkle with the bonus of the man's guitar work.

None of Billy Joel's recordings will ever be considered a "desert island disc" for me, his albums are just too short and simple, and I think for more than a few of his fans, there's a nostalgic bug (which there's nothing wrong with).

Riding high on the blockbuster An Innocent Man and with a new jet-setting bride at his side, Billy Joel took full advantage of the high life, as is clear from The Bridge, an album that unwittingly celebrates the excesses of the Reagan years.
From its processed, distorted guitars to its hollow synthesizers, The Bridge sounds dated and it's his most uneven since Streetlife Serenade.
In context of the album, they're fairly enjoyable, but they hint at the dry spell that was just around the corner.
