This tired shorebird made an expected appearance aboard the Chad and Sisters Two during a recent fall cruise from Brier Island.
Over the last number of years a variety of shorebirds have used the vessel as a resting place on their long journey south.
Each cruise is from 2 to 5 hours in duration and departs from Westport on Brier Island, the Gateway to the Bay of Fundy.

On our way out to Brier Island, we stopped in the last bit of sunshine we were to see for days, and took a whale watching trip on a zodiac.
There was other somewhat "wild life" on the island -- bunnies dripping with moisture from the fog, and a good looking pig that hangs out near the Lodge.
Wildflowers cover the island, and they look good in the muted light of a fogbound day (as do rosehips, and fields of shimmering grasses).

We have a cottage on Brier Island, Nova Scotia, and have just spent a week there.
Shorebirds were scattered around the Island and Freeport, with Pond Cove a bit of a disappointment - possibly because Merlins were harrassing them there.
The highlight for me was not any rarity, but hundreds of Red-breasted Nuthatches all over the island early in the week - a sight I haven't seen for several years.
