Brimstone. Hollywood Jesus looks at television.
This series is about a detective Ezekiel Stone and his quest for redemption and his place in heaven after being sent to hell for murdering his wife's rapist.
The golden age of television, a period of live plays, serious examinations of the human dilemma, was a brief period of excellence in American tv because people wanted Cid Caesar and Uncle Milty and the like, and not Requiem for a Heavyweight or Twelve Angry Men.
Brimstone is one of the most thought-provoking shows on TV, and it is a shame that a series that deals seriously with the Christian world view (and in a totally engrossing way) has been treated so despicably by Fox.

10:00 PM PT "Brimstone," FOX's hour-long drama series starring Peter Horton as a former police detective condemned to hell after killing, in cold blood, his wife's rapist, will air what may be the show's last episode Friday night, as the show was pulled from production weeks ago awaiting the word on cancellation.
UltimateTV spoke with the producers of "Brimstone," to inquire about their take on the future of the series, and found out that they have guarded optimism about the show's return.
The mandate, according to "Brimstone" producer Ethan Reiff, is for Warner Bros. Television to start producing more shows for The WB, rather than getting their shows from other production companies.

 Sci Fi Channel Gets LEXX
In a move that should bring joy to fans of British and European science fiction television, the Sci Fi Channel fulfilled years of febrile anticipation Thursday by bringing LEXX to the United States.
Previously, the main experience U.S. viewers had with the series was in the form of four early double-length telefilms sporadically broadcast as "Tales from a Parallel Universe" on Showtime and The Movie Channel since 1997.
The series follows the adventures of a band of galactic misfits -- a bumbling prole, a bad girl, a moody dead guy and a robot head -- who make their homes aboard the Lexx, a big spacefaring insect with a poor attitude.

Washington, D.C. - The Parents Television Council recently released results of the second in a series of comprehensive reports examining the State of the Television Industry—a study focusing on the amount of foul language on television from 1998 through 2002.
A new study of television's so-called "family hour" (the first hour of prime time) found that youngsters watching network television last season were exposed to more coarse language, violence and bawdy humor than in the previous year, according to the Parents Television Council.
Also be aware that individual programs within a series might vary from the norm and would therefore warrant a lower or higher rating, if evaluated individually.
