Queensland Transport's director-general Bruce Wilson said an average 4.7 per cent rise in cab fares had been approved from July 24 after a submission from the Taxi Council of Queensland.
The standard distance rate will rise by 10 cents a kilometre to $1.60, making the 16km taxi ride from the Brisbane CBD to the domestic airport $31.60, instead of around the current $30.
And on July 3, fares on all TransLink bus, train and ferry services will rise by up to 20 cents for a daily ticket and by 80 cents for a two zone weekly ticket.
