Brisbane Water is the northern arm of Broken Bay on the east coast of New South Wales Australia.
Brisbane Water is named after Sir Thomas Brisbane, Governor of New South Wales between 1820 and 1825.
The water ways are renowned for their rich aquatic life; sea weeds, mangroves, oysters, sharks and rays, as well as good populations of fish are present in the waters.

Brisbane Water’s Divisional Manager, Howard Lacy, said the recycled water provided by Council is used for cooling tower make up, boiler feedwater and other processes to achieve a cleaner fuel.
Mark Pascoe, Council’s Manager of Water and Sewerage said that Council is committed to sustainable management of Brisbane’s water reserves through water reuse policy and implementation in both commercial and domestic environs.

BRISBANE may reconsider its opposition to water fluoridation in a bid to reverse the alarming trend of rotten teeth, fillings and even cases of 18-month-old toddlers wearing dentures.
A working group of representatives of the state's doctors, dentists, and pharmacists will meet Lord Mayor Campbell Newman and Deputy Mayor David Hinchliffe in a bid to convince them that the arguments against fluoridation are emotive, ignorant and without scientific credibility.
Fluoridation was last considered by the Brisbane City Council's 1997 fluoridating taskforce set up under then lord mayor Jim Soorley, a passionate opponent of the practice.
