 Bristol Green Party - Labour misleads electors on war vote
The Labour Party in Bristol West has made false claims that their MP Valerie Davey "voted against the war" in Iraq.
Valerie Davey (and Doug Naysmith, Bristol North West) did vote for two amendments which stated that 'the case for military action against Iraq is as yet unproven' (Division 96, 26/2/2003) and that 'the case for war against Iraq has not yet been established' (Division 117, 18/3/2003).
The Green Parties in Bristol continue to condemn the lack of integrity shown by the Labour leadership and some Bristol Labour MPs over the decision to intervene militarily in Iraq.

Pronounced Blakely, the seat lies in the north of Manchester and borders the suburbs of Prestwich to the west and Chadderton and Failsworth to the east.
The constituency is part of the Neath and Port Talbot local authority area, which voted Yes in the 1997 referendum by a majority of 18,267, which was 66% of the vote in that area - the biggest single Yes percentage in Wales.

The average figure in the North East region for people dying each year as a direct result of lung cancer is 41 per 100,000 per population, this is 46% above the national average of 28 people per year, per 100,000.
The North West with 35 people per year, per 100,000 is 25% above the national average followed by Yorkshire and Humberside with 34 people per year, per 100,000 which is 21% above the national average.
London and the West Midlands are in line with the national average, while the East Midlands (27), South East (23), East of England (22) and the South West (22) are below the national average.
