The new stadium holds 28,383 supporters, with the highest attendance being recorded for the sell out fixture against Everton in their FA Cup 3rd Round tie in 2002.
It is close to the Sideway junction with the A500.
Unfortunately, the stadium has witnessed some of the worst violence amongst any British stadia and after a particularly poor record of spectator violence in 2001-2 the club management has organised safety stewarding, to become one of the safest stadia for spectators.

The new Britannia Stadium stands on a windy hill on the outskirts of Stoke on Trent.
The finish of the outside of the stadium is excellent, perhaps helped by the fact that, although capable of becoming a bowl, the stands are largely separate buildings.
All in all, the Britannia is a fine stadium, with an individuality and character that most of the modern grounds lack.

Please note: on a matchday, access to the stadium from the A50 is strictly limited to coaches, permit holders and disabled supporters who have been allocated a parking space directly outside the stadium (see ACCESS and PARKING for more details).
Pedestrians can walk to the Britannia Stadium on a matchday from Stoke using existing footpaths along the bridge over the A500, which lead to the incinerator access road, to link up with the footway/cycleway (and the bridge over the canal and railway line) to the stadium.

There is severly limited parking at the Britannia Stadium, and entry to these car parks is strictly by ticket only.
Around the stadium, there are several unofficial car parks that wecome parking, as long as you are willing to pay anything up to £4 for the day.

Kingston Communications Stadium or KC Stadium is a new facility for the city of Hull, England, hosting football, rugby league and a series of pop concerts.

For a club the size of Stoke the Brittania stadium is a nice ground, though it would look a lot better with the corners filled in.
I know it seems a strange comment, but the worst feature of the stadium is the toilets, which on both times have seen me walk through quite amount of water to reach the urinals.
Overall the Brittania Stadium is a good 'Championship' stadium to visit, well apart from the toilets, that is.

The Britannia Stadium opened in 1997, after they left the Victoria Ground where they had played for 119 years.
The Britannia Stadium is not located in the best of places to get a drink, as there is not a good selection of bars around, and many Stoke supporters are not so friendly to welcome you in and have a chat at their local!
Busses are available for £1 return to the stadium, and leave from outside the stadium back to the train station immediately after with regular services.

 DISORDER AT FOOTBALL STADIUM   (3 November 2003)
Two men were arrested before the match at outside the ground and a further two arrests were made after the game, as police officers in protective clothing came under attack from coins and bottles.
Ch Insp Paul Giannasi said "We recorded much of the disorder on video and CCTV and we have today begun to review the evidence, I expect that a number of further arrests will be made in relation to this disorder.
This was the worst disorder we have seen at the Britannia Stadium this season and many of whose involved face arrest."

But it's a fair walk to the stadium from both - and walking through Stoke town centre on route to the Britannia is strongly discouraged.

It is a fair sized stadium comprising three separate stands, one of which extends half way around the ground.
