During WWII its first assignment was to the British Expeditionary Force where it was commanded by Alan Brooke (from whose name it took its insignia of a red leaping salmon upon three wavy blue bands against a white background, all in an oblong red border).
For Fortitude North, with its headquarters supposedly at Stirling in Scotland, it notionally consisted of the genuine British 3d Infantry Division (shortly replaced by the notional British 58th Infantry Division), the genuine British 55th Division in Northern Ireland, and the genuine 113th Independent Infantry Brigade in the Orkneys.
Following the British withdrawal from Egypt, II Corps was also the controlling force for the invasion of the country during the Suez Crisis.

 U.S. 4th Infantry Division - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 4th Infantry Division was organized at Camp Greene, North Carolina on December 10, 1917 under the command of MG George H. Cameron.
Two brigades operated in the Central Highlands/II Corps Zone, but its 3rd Brigade, including the division's armor battalion, was sent to Tay Ninh Province northwest of Saigon to take part in Operation Attleboro (September to November, 1966), and later Operation Junction City (February to May, 1967), both in War Zone C.
The division's 3rd Brigade was withdrawn from Vietnam in April, 1970 and deactivated at Ft. Lewis.

 25th Infantry Division Association: The Units
The 2nd Battalion (Airborne) 503rd Infantry Regiment was reactivated on 16 December 2001 as a parachute infantry battalion and assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade stationed at Vicenza, Italy.
The 66th Infantry Platoon (Combat Tracker) was activated on 15 February 1968 and served with the 25th Infantry Division until inactivated in Vietnam on 15 March 1971 with the departure of the 2nd Brigade.
On 16 October 1989 the 1st Battalion was reactivated as a parachute infantry battalion and assigned to the 6th Infantry Division with station at Fort Richardson, Alaska On 16 April 1998 the 1st Battalion was reassigned to the 172nd Infantry Brigade.

British Borneo lay along its northern seaboard and comprised the two states of British North Borneo and Sarawak, the small protected State of Brunei, and the Crown Colony of Labuan Island.

The 35th division adopted the symbol because one of the trail heads of the Santa Fe trail started from Camp Doniphan, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where the division trained (Aug 23 1917 to April 16 1918) before embarking for France.
The 35th Division was created by the assignment of the Missouri and Kansas National Guard units, that were inducted into Federal service on August 4th and 5th, 1917.
While the overwhelming majority of men of the 35th division are included, they are not necessarily a complete listing of all the men of the 35th (such as replacements or transfers).

In mid-January 1809, the situation of the British Army in the Iberian Peninsula was grim.
The 1st Battalion of Detachments was brigaded with the 29th Foot and the 1/16th Portuguese Infantry under the command of General Richard Stewart, while the 2nd Battalion of Detachments was brigaded with the 97th Foot and the 2/16th Portuguese Infantry under General John Sontag.
General Stewart's brigade was ordered to advance to the top of the hollow, when all the others were ordered to lie close to the ground, as the French had taken up a position with their heads above the rise, and were doing much mischief.
