The airline was established on 31 March 2002 from the merger of British Airways subsidiaries Brymon Airways and British Regional Airlines - Previously Manx Airlines (acquired by BA in 2001).
British Airways Regional, and the operations of the former CityFlyer Express, were integrated into the new airline later in 2002.
Citiexpress operates from several destinations that are also served by the parent company, and are part of British Airways destinations.
