Lions recognize first place regular season finishes now with a banner where the year can be added to it.
I didn't see any kind of banner in BC Place for finishing first in the west for 2005, 2004, 1999, etc. I know there are two banners that includes years for Grey Cup appearances, such as 1963, 1983, 1988, and 2004, but no banner for simply finishing first in the west.
Those were the years that the Lions won the West Division Final (regardless of West Division Standing) to advance to the Grey Cup - not simply the years that the Lions finished first in the West Division in the regular season.
