The British Strike and the Events in Poland
British capital attacked the miners not only because the mining industry is badly equipped technically and is in need of "rationalisation," but primarily because the miners have always been, and still remain, the advanced detachment of the British proletariat.
The British workers could not but be convinced in the difficult moment of the general strike, when the platforms and programmes of the various parties were being tested in action, that the only party capable of boldly and resolutely upholding the interests of the working class to the end is the Communist Party.
The British workers, who replied to that attempt by a gigantic strike, have shown the whole capitalist world that the firm stabilisation of capitalism in the conditions of the post-war period is impossible, that experiments like the British one are fraught with the danger of the destruction of the foundations of capitalism.

British Anarchism and the Miners Strike
While anarchisms that prioritised liberation from class domination were the dominant forms of libertarianism in Britain at the end of the nineteenth and the start of the twentieth century, by the early 198s5, versions of anarchism based on liberal concepts of agency had come to the fore in Anglo-American circles.
Class War, which is the eponymous newspaper of a non-syndicalist class struggle anarchist grouping, was also uncompromising in its active support for workers in struggle, even if it, too, had criticisms of formal union structures and its leadership (Class War, 1984eb: 3-5).
A further tactic advanced by Class War was 'open[ing] up a second front in the cities to back the miners' (Class War, 1984ec: 3), stretching the sites of resistance from coalfields to the general control of social and community life, and thereby invoking a wider view of the agent for (potential) change.

British Rail Class 165 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The British Rail Class 165 "Network Turbo" diesel multiple units were built by BREL at York Works from 1990-92.
The subsequent arrival of new Class 168 'Clubman' units has pushed the 165s down the pecking order, and nowadays they are seldom found on expresses to Birmingham, generally working on shorter routes, such as stopping services to Aylesbury and High Wycombe.
In 2004, due to deliveries of new Class 180 "Adelante" units on sister company First Great Western, the five Class 165/0 units became redundant and were transferred to Chiltern Railways.
