The British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) is the world's biggest diving club and one of the most respected diving organisations in the world with a reputation for the excellence of its diver training programme.
BSAC HQ The Headquarters of the BSAC are located in Ellesmere Port, in the North West of England.
BSAC branches are autonomous groups of BSAC members who organise and promote their own diving activities, frequently having group ownership of equipment such as dive boats, compressors and often training equipment.

The British Sub-Aqua Club or BSAC is the governing body of recreational diving in Britain.
BSAC is unusual for a diver training agency in that most BSAC instructors are amateurs operating in diving clubs as opposed to professionals operating in diving schools.
Club Diver - This is more or less the same as Ocean Diver; originally the two were operated in parallel with Ocean Diver awarded at schools and Club Diver at clubs.

The club is able to accept trained divers of all standards; however because we do not have access to a swimming pool we are not in a position to undertake entry-level training.
Instructors within the club are able to provide training for BSAC qualified divers only, higher qualifications for PADI etc. must be obtained from relevant schools.
An Ocean Diver, joining the club would be expected to take the BSAC Sports Diver Course qualification which would allow the diver to undertake the majority of the dives organised by the club.

 The British Sub-Aqua Club
From its beginnings the club has received world-wide recognition as a leader, standard-setter and innovator in the field of sport diving.
The BSAC was formed in London in the autumn of 1953 by a number of "persons interested in underwater activities" whose aim was "to promote underwater exploration, science and safety in these activities".
The club's founder was Oscar Gugen and by the end of 1954 it had been recognised in Britain as the governing body for the new sport of underwater swimming, a responsibility which it still retains.

Everybody has their own favourites, but Lyme Regis is, without doubt my personal favourite in the U.K. The whole ambience of the place is fantastic, and I've been on so many dive weekends there that it feels like my second home.
Our first dive was to be on the wreck of the Ailsa Craig, a British steamship carrying a cargo of coal, when she was torpedoed by UB-80 in 1918.
She was sunk just 4 miles due west of the Pomeranian, and the vessels may have been in convoy.
