Brockville (2001 population 21,375, metropolitan population 44,741) is located in the Thousand Islands region on the St.
This area of Ontario was first settled in 1784 by hundreds of American refugees who later became known as United Empire Loyalists for their political position on the side of King George III during the American War of Independence.
A well-engineered tunnel for this railway was dug and blasted underneath the middle of Brockville from 1854 to 1860.

Brockville Police Service is investigating the theft of a 2003 white Mana 942 trailer, Ontario licence plate # A5077M from the parking lot of 325 Stewart Blvd. The trailer has the wording "KBD" in burgundy on both sides, reported stolen over night September 8 - 9.
Brockville Police are also continuing a mischief investigation from July 11, 2006 at Centeen Park involving a group of youths damaging some of the new light standards.
The Brockville Police Service would like to inform the community that these are out ot town callers and are not from the Brockville Police Service or from the Brockville Police Association and we are very concerned with their aggressive approach to our residents and businesses.

During the War of 1812 Brockville was attacked on February 6th, 1813, by a group of 200 men led by Captain Forsyth the American Commander at Ogdensburg.
They crossed the ice and arrived in Brockville just before midnight, as a result all of Brockville Militia were asleep.
Several Brockville citizens were surprised to look out their windows to see a small American Civil war waging in what would be the present day Reliable parking lot.

The land on which the house stands was first deeded to Daniel Jones in 1790, one of the area's early settlers.
In 1897, the property was sold to the Central Canada Coal Company, which retained possession until 1976 when the City of Brockville, with assistance from the Brockville and District historical society, purchased the house and its surrounding property.
