Following is a list of the historic counties followed by their respective county seats, and territories in the province of Quebec.
This is similar to Louisiana's parishes are that secular, and are equivalent to counties, in contrast to Quebec's secular parishes that are sub-county entities.
Quebec's counties were dissolved in the early 1980s and Quebec was then divided into county regional municipalities.

Brome County, is an historical county of Quebec.
The 3 townships in the north are, from east to west, the Township of Bolton, the Township of Brome and the Township of Farnham.
In the early 1980's the county was abolished and the western half of the county was transferred to the new Regional County Municipality of Brome-Missisquoi and the eastern half was transferred to the Regional County Municipality of Memphrémagog.

 Eastern Townships, Quebec
Although the Townships are predominantly rural and are in Quebec, their history and contemporary circumstances differ considerable from what might be called, the standard narrative of rural life in Quebec, over the past two-hundred or more years.
They are Quebecers in the sense that they and their ancestors have lived in Quebec for many generations.
Thus the Eastern Townships is a region of Quebec, which is well defined in the minds of the residents with whom I spoke, and in organisations such as the Townshippers Association.

Daniel Derry and Catharine were married in 1835 and left Quebec and settled in WI a few years after their marriage.
Daniel Derry's parents are buried in the Miltimore Family Cemetery that is located on the original Miltimore farm in Potton Twp., Brome County, Quebec.
