The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is a London borough in the west side of central London, created in 1965 from the former boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea.
It is an urban area and was named in the 2001 census as the most densely populated local authority in the United Kingdom, with a population of 158,919 at 13,244 per square kilometre (the land area is approximately 12 square kilometres).
Kensington and Chelsea's affluence is demonstrated by the fact that it has the largest number of high-earners (over £60,000) of any administrative region in the country — 16.6% [2].

The only Roman station within the limits of this county, besides Londinium, which was the seat of the Roman government of Britain, appears to have been Sulloniacæ the supposed site of which was on Brockley hill, near Elstree, bordering on Hertfordshire, on which spot various Roman remains have been discovered.
