The Bromsgrove constituency is located in the north east corner of Worcestershire along the M5 and M42 to the south west of Birmingham.
Bromsgrove has been a Conservative seat since 1983 when it was separated from the neighbouring town of Redditch.
Bromsgrove is coterminous with the District Council of the same name.

The fourth annual Conference of The Bromsgrove Group was held outside Bromsgrove, near Birmingham, on Tuesday 17th October to Thursday 19th October.
This annual two day event brings together in loose association, money reformers, environmentalists, ecologists, academics, and people concerned with a variety of social and religious issues and who are all united in a belief that the supply of money into the economy represents a root cause of their shared concerns.
It was important that people sought to unite on the core aspects, and in that regard, the Bromsgrove Statement could be an enabling mechanism which would allow others to come aboard a general movement for economic democracy.

The Bromsgrove constituency was abolished in boundary changes for the February 1974 general election, and in the new Bromsgrove and Redditch constituency, Davis lost to the Conservative Hal Miller.
The Stechford constituency was abolished in boundary changes for the 1983 general election, and Davis was re-elected in the succesor constituency of Birmingham Hodge Hill.
