  HappyGlyphs Comics: Familiarity's Brood
Familiarity is a comfort, and this is why we see some frankly boring comic strips filling the comic's pages long after their Creators have passed on.
Some comic strips have been around for sooooooo very long, and yet still have their original Creators.
The other half is HappyGlyphs Comics, in which I create and publish my own original cartoon projects, such as comic strips, comic books, and graphic novels.

 Devros (Kree/Brood, Captain Mar-Vell foe)
The Brood are a Matriarchal Society, with the Empress as head, and Queens of various rank ruling in her name over their own Brood Nests.
Even if a Brood host is male that doesn't mean that the Brood itself is, Harry Palmer, for instance, was a human male, but the Brood within him was a female, a Queen, so he was referred to as a Brood Queen.
In fact, the Brood at least have good reason, the survival of their race depends upon conquering others, making them Brood, it is instinct, not greed or hate, that drive the Brood.

Remembering his earlier encounter with the Brood, Conover informed the police he was sure that the X-Men were taking care of Hannah, then went back into the tent to pray for Hannah's safety.

Yet he can also be more than that, it appears he can be the focus of his very own, very character driven book that doesn't have to rely on the same tricks or the same settings.

Ostrander is a good writer, i had his whole run on the Suicide Squad (where he got saddled with a bad artists) but though he has enthusiasm for the X-Men and a nice twist/new addition to the Brood mythos---the story lacks a bit in the characterization of the X-Men.
The story itself was good as a quandry of what to do but I felt that the Brood were beat not too easily but without the X-Men really putting their backs into it.
The nice thing about a Claremont X-Men fight is that it's dog dirty and spreads out a bit and strategy is involved having that in the first part of the trade kinda upstaged the second part---it would've been nice if the first meeting with them was included as well.

A brood of 17-year cicadas emerges in the eastern United States nearly every summer, and Brood X is the largest, ranging across 15 states from New York to Missouri and as far south as Georgia.
In Cincinnati, another urban hub of Brood X's multi-state patch, entomologist Gene Kritsky reported yesterday that there was "nothing heavy yet." Scattered cicadas have emerged but not on the order of Michael Raupp's hundreds-per-tree observation.
