learning in the community @ the informal education homepage
Stephen Brookfield's (1983) book Adult Learners, Adult Education and the Community, is one of the most coherent contemporary discussion of learning outside conventional educational frameworks.

Opinion: Brookfield Developments Ltd v The Keeper of the Registers of Scotland
As the facts of the case are not in dispute the appeal was heard by way of legal debate at which the tenants were represented by Mr W Graeme St Clair, Solicitor, and the Keeper of the Registers by Mr Colin Campbell, Advocate.
Doubtless the involvement of the Tribunal in the adjudication of disputes relating to land registration, alongside the Courts, is due to the Tribunal's related jurisdiction to vary or discharge enforceable land obligations under section 1 of the Conveyancing and Feudal Reform (Scotland) Act 1970.
The present appeal to the Lands Tribunal is under section 9 of the 1979 Act for rectification of the entry in the register relating to the applicants' property at 183 and 189 Yokermill Road, Glasgow, and in particular the entries made by the Keeper in the burdens section of the relevant title sheet.
