Brookhaven College is a community college that is part of the Dallas County Community College District that is located in Farmers Branch, Texas.
The school opened in 1978 as the seventh college in the DCCCD and serves, on average, nine- to ten-thousand students each semester, with the largest percentage of those students in the school's continuing education program.
Brookhaven offers associate degrees in arts and sciences, applied science, arts and sciences for business majors and nursing.

 Whitworth College Collection
Henry J. Ledet, director of the Lincoln-Lawrence-Franklin Regional Library in Brookhaven and president of the Brookhaven Trust, has donated to the department of Manuscripts and Archives in the McCain Library and Archives of the USM University Libraries copies of materials in his library which document the history of Whitworth College in Brookhaven.
Whitworth College was established as a Methodist women's college in 1858 by Milton J. Whitworth as the successor to the renowned Elizabeth Female Academy in Washington, which had been destroyed by fire.
Whitworth was a Brookhaven planter and businessman who convinced railroad officials to divert the route of the railroad through Brookhaven and convinced A.E. Moreton, the architect of the French Opera House in New Orleans, to design the buildings of the new Whitworth College.

Marilyn Kolesar Lynch, dean of Brookhaven College's Automotive Technology and Tech Prep Division, told persons attending the convention that Merwin was selected for the honor by the school's faculty council along with the College president's cabinet.
Brookhaven College has been working with ASA's national office and ASA's Dallas chapter for 14 years.
Dean Lynch said the partnerships the College now has with those in the automotive service industry are "beyond where we'd imagined they would be when the school began its automotive program in 1978." She said Merwin was one of the individuals most responsible for that achievement.

 Admission Requirements of the Associate Degree Nursing Program
Support courses completed at colleges and universities outside the DCCCD must be approved for transfer credit prior to the semester in which the course is required as stipulated in the curriculum degree plan.
Course descriptions must be copied from the college catalog which was in effect the semester the course was completed and course numbers must match the transcript.
In the event that a college will only release a transcript to another institution directly, an applicant should request that the transcript be mailed to the address designated in the information packet according to the applicant's campus preference.
