This episode was truly amazing not only for the outstanding performances of Brent Spiner playing Data, Lore and Dr. Soong but for the technical aspects of bringing that to life.
Not to belittle this episode cause your right, it is amazing but imo TNG revolutionized the industries technology for doing this kind of effect with the episode Time Squared.
And one of the things that this episode showed data and one of the things that was mentioned to him a couple of times on the episode that “brothers forgive” - that people them self forgive and forget.

Ever since "Brothers", at least for me, TNG has been off-again, on-again, every other show.
Gul Macet was played by Marc Alaimo, who also played the first TNG Romulan we ever saw, T'Bok, in "The Neutral Zone"--and was very recognizable as such, at least by voice.
I don't know if this was intended (probably), and the writers/producers certainly couldn't have known for certain that this show would be airing in the middle of a war, but I think it brought out a couple of points well worth listening to.

 Film Roar: TNG: Encounter at Farpoint
In my attempt to stay true to the promise I made on Film Roar: Star Trek: The Next Generation here is my first set of impressions from a specific TNG episode.
I do not know what bit of casting genius led the makers of Star Trek Next Generation to put John de Lancie in the series pilot episode TNG: Encounter at Farpoint but his wit and expert timing add saving grace and humor to the episode.
The crew of the Next Generation has a long way to go from the pilot to the more seasoned show we enjoyed in the latter years, but let's all be thankful that this first episode was good enough to at least warrant continuing the series.

Media Blasters is currently planning to release the entire first season (26 episodes) on DVD in 2006.
All 6 half-hour episodes will be included on a single disc in anamorphic widescreen video, with audio in Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo.
This COULD mean new episodes of the series, but consider the information grain-of-salt-worthy until we get some kind of confirmation from the studio.

 My favourite TNG episode
After meeting the Borg in the second season ("Q Who") the Enterprise D faces a rematch - this time with the Borg wishing to assimilate sector 001 - Earth!
This was the first two-part episode of TNG (not counting "Encounter at Farpoint" which was intended to be one 90 minute episode), and the first of the season cliffhangers which TNG and the other Star Trek shows which followed always try to end on.
I consider the following story "Family" to be the third part of "Both of Best Worlds" as Picard tries to come to terms with what had been done to him.
