Reason R. Brown, farmer, P.O. Emerald, Adams Co, was born in September, 1813, in Adams County Ohio; son of Thomas and Catharine Brown, who were among the early settlers of Adams County.
Vincent Brown was born in Kentucky in 1786; came to this township in 1801, and was married soon after his arrival her to Martha Ann Allen, thus being the first marriage ceremony performed in the township.
James Brown, a native of Kentucky, born in 1795, came to Pike township in 1812; was married in 1814, and built a cabin on the land where George W. Watson now lives.
