The Broxtowe Group's first Annual Report dated 1989 and produced by Margaret Ginger (Secretary) detailed these events.
Broxtowe Group has since grown in popularity and strength to become the second largest group in Nottinghamshire with around 400 members.

Broxtowe Women's Project was set up in January 2001 to provide an information and support service for women living in the north of Broxtowe Borough who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence.
The project was developed by Broxtowe Women's Issues Network (BWIN) which was a group of women and men from various agencies who had been focusing on women's issues in the Broxtowe Borough, particularly domestic violence.

Broxtowe in many senses is a typical “Middle England” seat, with a large, comfortable middle class and little extremes of either rich or poor.
There is a strong Tory presence on Broxtowe Council in wards such as Greasley, Nuthall, Awsworth and Cossall, Attenborough and Toton, although Labour is still in the the majority on the council.

The unwillingness of the Police to engage in a joint investigation in the aftermath of the Broxtowe case left the social workers isolated and without any real means of checking their suspicions.
We consider that the unwillingness of the Police to agree to joint working in the aftermath of the Broxtowe case led eventually to distrust and a failure of communication which contributed to the Social Services Department developing and enlarging upon its concept of Satanic ritual abuse.

In the Middle Ages there were six Wapentakes: Newark, Bassetlaw, Thurgarton, Rushcliffe, Broxtowe, and Bingham.
By the sixteenth century they ceased to have real administrative importance but remained as a useful way of discussing the geography of the county, hence Dr Robert Thoroton's use of these divisions for his 'progress' around the county: Antiquities of Nottinghamshire (1677).
This has caused endless headaches with Broxtowe, since there is a former council estate on the west side of Nottingham called Broxtowe, and a district council which stretches down the west side of the county from Eastwood to Stapleford also called Broxtowe.

You will be delighted to know that the Conservative share of the vote increased by over 11%, while Labour lost 2% and the LibDems lost more than 9% of their votes.
This is clearly an indication of your dissatisfaction with what you have been provided with by the ruling LibDem and Labour coalitiion and may have led directly to the local Lib Dems claim to be a "fringe party" in Broxtowe.
