Bruce Seldon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bruce Seldon (born January 30, 1967) was the World Boxing Association Heavyweight champion from 1995 to 1996.
It was after a boxing match between Seldon and Mike Tyson that Tupac Shakur was murdered in a drive-by shooting.
Seldon was subjected to much ridicule after the bout because many thought he seemed scared to death of Tyson and went down and out from only a glancing blow to his head.

Boxing News : Gerbasi : Seldon Returns to The Scene of His Greatest Disaster Saturday
On Saturday, Seldon, in the third fight of a comeback he began in March, will return to Las Vegas for the first time since the Tyson bout to battle unbeaten prospect Gerald Nobles on the Roy Jones-Antonio Tarver II undercard.
Seldon has scored two wins on the comeback trail, knocking out serviceable journeyman Otis Tisdale in March, and former middleweight Lenzie Morgan in April (the less said about that mismatch the better).
Seldon would defend his title once, a tenth round TKO of Joe Hipp, before being led to the slaughter against Tyson.

The jail sentence was stayed until Wednesday to allow Seldon's attorney to apply for house arrest or a work release program for his client in place of the jail term.
Seldon, 31, admitted picking the girl up in Atlantic City on November 17 and taking her to his house in Gloucester Township.

Plain and simple, Bruce Seldon was scared to death.
The fear which overwhelmed Seldon was the same fear which destroyed Frank Bruno last March and so many other opponents in Tyson's thunderous, tumultuous, controversial and sensational career.
To their credit, both Bruno and Seldon brought two of the finest-sculpted bodies the heavyweight division has ever seen into the ring in Tyson's last two fights, or perhaps we should say, last two outings.
