After a long running saga trying to get the team to Derry last night, Bruff 1st XV managed to come away from Derry with a win and a bonus point despite having finished the game with two men in the sin bin.
The second half saw Bruff with the wind at their backs and very early on Mike Carroll got Bruff’s fourth try to snatch the bonus point.
Bruff seemed to rest on their laurels slightly after this but defended well finishing the game with thirteen men after Brian Cahill and Brendan Deady were binned within the last ten minutes.

Peter Schuyler Bruff (1812 - 1900), born in Portsmouth, England was an astute civil engineer most well known for founding the seaside resort town of Clacton on Sea, Essex, and for improving the lives of residents in the Essex towns of Walton-on-the-Naze, Colchester and Harwich.
Bruff did not have the funds to finance his ambitious new project and it was with some desperation that nearly five years later he met with William Parry Jackson, chairman of the Woolwich Steam Packet Company.
In the 1840's Bruff was also the engineer for the Chard Canal, a 13½ mile tug-boat canal with inclined planes and three tunnels, from the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal at Creech St. Michael to Chard.

Bruff was convicted of the March 2004 murder of Kevin Shawn Hixson, 32, Lancer Dr., Lake Tansi, who was shot once in the back of the head as he leaned over a television while working on the satellite system, and then once in the head "execution style," evidence showed.
A neighbor saw Bruff's truck arrive at the scene with a ladder in the back, saw a man she identified as Bruff place the ladder on the side of Hixson's trailer, enter the trailer, and a short time later leave in a hurry.
There was also testimony that Bruff had told his mother that Hixson had been shot in the back of the head before investigators revealed that information to the media.
