This is a superior performance to Bryden Thompson's with his well-known quirky tempi (he managed to make Elgar's 2nd Symphony last 1/4 hour longer than anyone elses - now thankfully deleted).
Thompson makes a complete hash of the third movement, his tempi bear no resemblance to Bax's score markings.
Further, Thompson's rendering was recorded in a venue with almost a cathedral acoustic - fine for works conforming to early harmonic principles but far too blurry for chromatically romantic composers such as Bax.

What does appear to be changing, based on Bryden et al, is the meridional overturning component of the circulation, the thermohaline circulation, which describes a vertical overturning circulation with northward transport in the upper part of the ocean, and equatorward transport at depth.
The paper by Bryden reports on a particular calculation done to infer the volume transport of the Atlantic Ocean along 25N at five instances in time (now granted this is expensive so we cannot get to do many of these types of transects).
Bryden reports an error bar of 5Sv which is based on an invese model result, and could be even higher for his method.

Thompson's transformation of welfare in Wisconsin has been widely lauded, and many expected him to have an integral role in reforming federal welfare upon his arrival in Washington.

On the lighter side, Thompson was known for his occasional mispronunciation of long-winded medical terms, such as when he referred to West Nile virus encephalitis as "encephalopolus;" or hematopoietic (blood) stem cells as "those pathetic stem cells"; or when he called neurons "neutrons."

Classics Today.com - Your Online Guide to Classical Music
If the performance doesn't magically cohere the way Buchbinder/Harnoncourt and Fleischer/Szell do, it's probably due to conductor Bryden Thompson's oddly unfocused reading of the orchestra part (with the London Symphony), recorded in somewhat bodiless, early digital sound.
Disc 2, with its improved sound quality and orchestral presentation, finds Margalit hitting a home run in Schumann's concerto, playing with the perfect combination of impetuousness and poetry that so characterizes this composer (missing only is the daring abandon of Martha Argerich's performance with Kazimierz Kord).
The Saint-Saëns is another fine performance, with Margalit exhibiting much dramatic flair, and Thompson's straightforward reading with the London Philharmonic provides a suitable backdrop.

How ironic, then, that while Thompson chairs the premier international agency combating AIDS, TB and malaria—the Global Fund—the Bush administration has proposed a crippling 64% cut in the U.S. contribution to the fund.
