In the early years there were few people involved in providing self-catering but as demand increased so did the supply of properties to meet it.
Although WTB recognise that there is a "perceived lack of character accommodation" in Wales, we actually supply this with our high quality apartments within a Castle yet we are harassed to the point of being driven out of business by them.
Wales is unique in the World, we understand, as a country with most castles per square mile, yet WTB do not stress this although it is acknowledged to be a great attraction for overseas visitors.

It is believed that only about 200 riders attended the first Dragon, and the “badge” was a fabric patch.
Shortly afterwards, the Dragon moved to Gwrych Castle (a Victorian “replica”) at Abergele, and the attendant numbers grew, promoted by extensive articles in the “Motor Cycle” magazine.
By 1965, the Dragon needed a bigger venue, and so it moved back to the Llanberis valley, to a site now known as the Glyn Rhonwy business park, but then more commonly known as Glyn Padarn.

 Dolbadarn Hotel, Llanberis, North Wales, a family run hotel in the heart of Snowdonia
This ride starts in the opposite direction to Snowdon, but follows and old railway track used by the quarry almost 200 years ago.
After a short walk along the road, you climb up past Bryn Bras castle, and up on to the top where you can see as far as Anglesey, and the coastline.
Slow descent into Llanberis via the medieval quarrymans track is shadowed by the mountain of Snowdon peering over you.
