Bucephalos whose master would conquer the world, Bucephalos born of the same seed as his master and whinnying and fawning with his front legs at the sight of the only man he trusted.
On arrival in Macedonia, Bucephalos was led into the plain for Philip's inspection, but he bucked and reared and refused to heed any word of command, and Philip ordered him to be taken away.
Bucephalos was Alexander's for the keeping, and he loved the horse for the next twenty years; he even taught him to kneel in full harness before him, so that he could mount him more easily in armour, a trick which the Greeks first learnt from the Persians.
Bucephalos is probably the most famous horse in history.
In Rome the senate, witch marveled at Alexander’s actions, built a statue group in the so-called Piazza del Quirinale, approximately hundred years later and one of the statues is a statue of Bucephalos, the greatest horse of all.
Bucephalos ought to have died in June of 326 B.C., 29 years old, after he wounded fatally at the battle of Hydaspes.
I call Christa to say that I wanted to come out and see Bucephalos, then the crushing blow, Christa is a kind voice said she was so sorry but he had left for his new home four days ago!
She was surprised as most visitors had chosen another lovely mare, but I insisted that it was Curiosa who spoke of Andalucia to me.
Bucephalos will bring all that is the best of Spain to the breeding barn.
Macedonia : Dion(Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-23)
According to a story preserved by the 2nd-century-A.D. biographer Plutarch, it was at Dion that Alexander, then only 8 years old, first saw Bucephalos, the handsome fl stallion soon to be his favorite mount.
Immediately, Alexander turned Bucephalos so that he could not see his shadow, leaped up, and galloped away.
There's a great deal to see at Dion, but we have to confess that some of our happiest visits have been spent picnicking under the shade trees.

The Rikki line has produced a number of sport horses that have been successful at advanced level in dressage as well as jumping.
Particularly worth mentioning here is State Premium Rikki II, who received the 1a premium at the DLG in Hanover in 1964 and is the dam of the 1985 European Champion in dressage, Bonnami, by the Thoroughbred stallion, Bucephalos.
Furioso II's licensed son, Fürst, is also a member of this dynasty.

The dam, State Premium and Elite mare, Journess, is by the jumper producer millionaire, Zeus, who for many years was one of the best jumper-makers in Germany and certainly one of the most colorful.
The third generation was refined by an especially good type Thoroughbred stallion, Bucephalos xx, who established himself as a sire of high quality dressage horses.
Aquino's dam line produced numerous sport horses as well as well-known sires such as Wanderfalk, Fredo (both private stallions in Oldenburg) and Weltweit (private stallion in Bavaria).

Two separate countries - "foreign" (?) to Greece - are indicated as lying to the north of Mt. Olympus and the Aliakmon River: Macedonia and Thrace.
A new (1994) illustrated children's edition, about the feats of the Ancient Macedonians, portraying Alexander the Great and Bucephalos in a romantic light.
Written by Vasil Tupurkovski, a leading political personality in Skopje, this is a clever popular version of history, which reveals the lengths to which the "Macedonian" national ideology will go even in the field of Ancient Macedonia.
Her maternal grandsire, Essaul*, was a champion on the track in Sweden.
Sweetie has had two foals, a 2002 foal sired by SVR Bucephalos, and a 1997 foal, sired by Rabba Baron.
Her 1997 foal, Mountain Dancer, has proven to be a successful 100-mile endurance horse, with a top-ten in an FEI 100-mile ride and was recently sold overseas to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to compete in UAE endurance races.
The legend states that when sailors in the Aegean encountered her she asked them a question: "Is Alexander the king alive?" to which the right answer would be "He lives and still rules." Any other answer would spur her rage and mean doom for the ship.
Alexander had a legendary horse named Bucephalos (meaning "ox-headed"), latinized Bucephalus, supposedly descended from the Mares of Diomedes.
Alexander himself, while still a young boy, tamed this horse after experienced horse-trainers failed to do so.

There was a Trakehner approved stallion by this name, not sure if it is the same one.
Aquilino's dam, SPS Journess, is an elite mare daughter of the millionaire jumper Zeus.
Bucephalos xx, in the third generation, was a Thoroughbred sire of good dressage horses, and this dam line has also produced Wanderfalk, Fredo and Weltweit.

I have, in the past, PROVEN that I am not a crazy cat lady (yet), but here's a little piece of information that implies, perhaps, that there is hidden brilliance in my CHOICE of Kitten Children:
The favorite horses of both Alexander the Great (Bucephalos) and Julius Caesar both had atavistic mutations - extra toes.
See - great conquering world leaders of ancient history had beloved MUTANT animals.
It is an easily recognizable type, that of an elegant, long-lined horse, sober and courageous, endowed with great intelligence and stamina, and a loyal, man-oriented character.
The ancient Chinese described them as Heavenly Horses long before the rise of Western civilization; the Greek historians knew them to be unwavering in battle and attributed the ancestry of Bucephalos — Alexander the Great’s favourite horse — to be, at least in part, from the steppes of
Throughout history these horses have been named after diverse peoples who bred them but since the 19
