Unfortunately this classic album did not make it to CD until recently due to copyright issues that had expired with the game manufactures who's game sounds were used in the songs.
But the copyright issues were renewed, and the album has been published to CD finally by the artists themselves (Buckner & Garcia).

I remember when Buckner and Garcia went on the television show "Solid Gold" to perform the song.Lastly, I strongly recommend that you are in nostalgia puchase the album which is in re-release.
Maybe I will break it out this weekend and listen to the whole thing for the first time in a very long time.

The only thing I can say with certainty about Buckner and Garcia is that the first is a street in Dallas that you don't want to stroll along at night, and the second is obviously the surname of someone Hispanic.

To some purists, this is heresy, and I do see - to a certain extent - where they're coming from.
But CBS Records, the label which issued the original Pac-Man Fever LP, refused to part with the 1982 master recordings, so Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia had to start from scratch.
But to their credit, this is about as close as I've ever heard a from-the-ground-up re-recording get to an original recording.

I could only wonder just what I was going to get myself into by listening to this.
Anyways, Buckner & Garcia are two elders who love them some oldies music and got sucked into the video game/arcade craze In 1982, this album was made and sold two million copies, eventually reissued their album on cd sometime later, dedicating it to some friends who recently passed on.
Anyways, this album really caught me offguard and it scares the hell out of me despite sounding like Children's Tunes mixed with a tinge of country, 80s-esque rock, mixed with typical oldies.
