Sailer's research on Buddha footprints little was known and the subject appeared without clarity or resolution, as there was a dearth of information.

In any case, it seems that half the temples and pagodas in SE Asia claim that Buddha either visited the site during his lifetime, or that there is one of Buddha’s hairs or teeth or something enshrined in the temple, etc. If all the claims were true, Buddha must have been a very hairy guy.
There were several trails that climb to the top of Mt. Phu Si, and on all of them there were signs pointing to “Buddha’s footprint”.
Now, in the largest reclining Buddha in the world, my footprint is in Buddha’s footprint.
