Budget airlines hit the Indian skies two years ago starting with Air Deccan, an airline launched by former pilots at India's state-owned carrier, Indian Airlines.
The airline claims it has put together a management team with long expertise in aviation in Europe and the United States.

As an Irish airline, security issues at Ryanair, which says it has 40 million passengers annually, are policed by the Irish Transport Office and safety issues by the Irish Aviation Authority.
